今月、オーストラリアのSaint Mary’s College Ipswichからの訪問団が来校し、1週間を本校で過ごしました。授業への参加やNigawa生との交流を通して、日本の学校文化や日常生活に直接触れていただきました。ホームステイも行われ、生徒同士の絆が深まり、別れの日には涙する姿も見られました。
この姉妹校提携はすでに相互の長期留学も実現しており、今回のようなグループ訪問やホームステイプログラムは、1年間の留学に参加しない生徒にとっても、国際交流に参加できる貴重な機会となっています。さまざまな形で海外とつながる体験を通して、多くの生徒が異文化への理解を深めています。

This month, a group from St. Mary’s College in Ipswich, Australia, spent a week at our school. During their stay, they joined regular classes and interacted with Nigawa students, gaining firsthand experience of Japanese school life and culture. The students were also welcomed into host families, forming strong bonds—and there were even tears on the day of departure.
Our sister school partnership with St. Mary’s has already supported long-term exchange opportunities for students on both sides. Programs like this group tour and homestay offer a chance for even more students to participate in international exchange, especially those who may not take part in a full-year program. Through these varied experiences, our students continue to deepen their understanding of other cultures and strengthen global friendships.
